How I Met Your Mother "Twin Beds" Episode

  • Golden Mean- When the gang shows up at Don's apartment Robin is letting everyone in but this action is off to the side to show Don in the foreground.
  • Rule of Thirds- When the gang is at the McLaren's Pub the booth is divided. One side of the booth is in one third the other side is in another and the table is in the middle.
  • Lookspace-When Ted and Barney are talking in the apartment they are sitting across the room from each other, when Ted moves his head forward to make a point the camera moves with him to give him more lookspace.
  • Leadroom- At the beginning of the episode a full couch is shown when Robin is only on one side implying she will scoot over for Don to sit down.
  • Headroom- Whenever anyone is shown on screen their eyes are 1/3 from the top of the screen whether it's one person or a few people.
Sabrina (1954)

Since this is an older movie in black and white the quality isn't really supposed to be that good, but with the restoration it is actually very clear. Some of the images seem cropped and it seems like they are cramped and there should be more of a wide shot. But in some scenes I don't remember Humphrey Bogart's face being that wide. Or is that a factor of throat cancer??

Static Composition Pictures
All the pictures are pleasing. They have vertical  and horizontal lines. They are calming and tranquil.

Dynamic Composition Pictures
The pictures are hectic. The pictures are taken from an angle instead of straight on.
